Xerneas!

May 11th, 2016

Fairy deer thing. Pass. Well, I still downloaded it, because OCD, but you know what I mean. Not a part of Denny's regular rotation of critters.

I know I was just going on about my Pokémons ™ last week, but admittedly this is an excellent year to be obsessed with the critters. For those of you keeping score, the giveaway of level one hundred Zygardes, last week via the internet, is now done. So if you were taking your sweet, sweet time in getting around to seizing one of these for your own digital use, you're crap out of luck.

Unless you already caught your own in your Pokémon ™ X or Y cartridges, anyway. And trained the sucker up to its maximum level.

Luckily for you, the fine crack dealers at Nintendo ® replaced that Zygarde giveaway with a Xerneas giveaway! Hm, Xerneas. How do you pronounce that, anyway? I always have problems with x-words, as much as I enjoy the letter on general principle. Is it ZER-KNEE-ASS or ECKS-URN-EEE-ASS? I try to refer to xylophone, but some people pronounce Xavier the other way.

I'm leaning on the zer one, since the Xerneas sounds like it starts about the same as xylophone. I suppose I could actually watch the cartoon to get an answer or something, but I've been trying real hard not to do that, because I didn't want to subject Brenda to that. Even though, you know, my significant other has her own anime series she can watch with ease.

Though I must admit, I wasn't mortified or anything by sitting through a watching of Utena with her. It didn't suck.

But yeah, Xerneas. I personally bought Pokémon Y because I thought Yvetlal looked much cooler than Xerneas. I mean really, big magical deer? Not my thing. But spiffy red monstrously huge flying bird thing with grabby-hands wings? I'm there, dude. Even if my requisite early-game flying Pokémon was the fiery red bird thing, too. I didn't mean to mostly repeat myself, but it was cool, too.

Anyway. Xerneas. Again. If you've already got one and are thinking 'meh', think again. This one is also level one hundred, so those of you who got Y like me because they thought Xerneas looked silly, well, you're in luck. And, best of all, this critter is shiny, which means it has a different color scheme. And sparkles when you release it from you Pokéball - in case it needed to be even more fabulous.

I think it already had that part covered, but you know, whatever.
