Behold: the (assembled) Air King ™!

May 8th, 2016

Our new Air King ™ fan. Current status: assembled.

As it turns out, my engineer's attempted repair on the bum pipe that came with our brand new, Air King ™ industrial strength fan was a success! I took the pipe home and completed the fan's assembly in relatively short order, having mostly finished it up already by this point. Circumstances got in the way of my actually testing the thing out until last night, however.

Firing the Air King ™ fan up, I did verify once more that the thing does, indeed, move a whole lot of air. The only problem is that it does not do so quite like I was hoping it would. Yeah, even with the thing pointing right down the hall, you can't quite feel the air from the kitchen-mounted air conditioner all the way down in Brenda's office. But all is not lost.

We haven't actually activated the air conditioner just yet, what with it not having gotten hot enough for us to do so, but on the first day that this occurs, I will retest the Air King ™ industrial fan apparatus and see if Brenda gets any cooling action going on over there on the opposite half of the house. If not, her office may move to the living room next month.

She works from home, as I'm pretty sure we've talked about, so it would behoove us all to ensure she can actually work while at home, and not just melt into a puddle of goo from the oppressive heat. Our house is pretty good about insulating us from the brunt of the stuff, but brick can only do so much to keep us comfortable, so in the event of thermal calamity a backup office plan is required.

And this one seems like a good idea, even if it involves moving computers around. A lot.
