Microsoft ® thinks it beat me.

April 12th, 2016

This should be the last time I invoke the Word logo at you, I promise.

As I am wont to do, I checked my bank balance this morning while I was waking up, to ensure I had about as much as I thought I should. While I don't meticulously keep a bank book like a lot of people tell me I ought to, I nonetheless maintain a running tab of my charges in my head, and ensure I'm on track every few days so I don't wind up having an 'oops' when attempting to buy whatever.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered I was about twenty dollars off this morning!

Digging deeper into my bank activity, I found out that I had a surprise, seventeen dollar charge against my bank from Microsoft ™ of all people. Upon reading the description of said charge, I realized that they billed me again for a back-up disc on my purchase of Office 2016 Professional ™, even though I specifically told them that I did not, in fact, want another back-up disc.

I am annoyed by this a bit, to be sure, but I can't really get angry about it. After all, I took them for a ride on this second copy of Office 2016 Professional ™, having only paid ten dollars for it in the first place. So, altogether, it looks like I'm out fifty four dollars for two (2) legal copies of the program and two (2) back-up discs, which I think is about a five hundred dollar savings overall.

So enjoy your last laugh, Microsoft ™. You win or something.

Yes, that's totally what happened. Victory, it is yours. Hooray.
