Speaking of cleaning up other people's messes.

It burnssss

I came in to work at nine in the morning today, only to be given another unit to fix. This one, unlike the mangled mess I had to sort out last night, was built by the South American. The South American has a distressing habit of stealing our work - and then screwing it up. But nobody bothers to stop her from doing this, because she works 'fast'. I guess 'accuracy' only matters where I'm concerned?

So yeah, she miswired the same model Strokerman did, though she managed to do it in one tenth the amount of time. I guess! So I told my boss that I would get on it when I get on it, because I dealt with one train wreck of miswired, super-compact electronics last night, and wasn't ready to handle another just yet. I'll probably get on that after I sort out everything else I planned to today.

Even more repairs notwithstanding. The test tech downstairs had me swap out more parts in our main build just after lunch, because he thinks either them or the amplifier board that drives them is faulty, and he lacks the chops to figure out which is which in circuit. Which is all right, I guess, because doing precisely that is what he gets the big bucks for. But whatever.

I sorted that out, and am waiting to hear more, so now I'm doing nice, simple wire prep. Sure, this is the foundation for the mammoth and intricate harness I'm going to be building over the next few days, but said foundation mostly consists of cutting, stripping, and tinning wire. There's a few gotchas involved, but that's only six of the wires I have to prepare, so that's not a big deal.

I think I need to start looking for another job again. I know I keep saying that, but I am tired of doing work way above my pay grade, without the associated pay raise. The trick is finding the time to do so, what with all the overtime I've been pulling, but unless everything changes on me over the course of this week, I think I'll have expended all of that by Sunday. And on a high note, no less!

This because, apparently, Friday is a paid holiday for us. And if I work it, I get paid triple time. That's nothing to shake a stick at.
