My not-Internet friends.

March 12th, 2016

I assure you that Bil's hands are not quite that large.

As this whatsit goes public, what with me having written it early, we are hosting family at the house. My parents drove all the way from Omaha to visit this weekend, after all, so I thought I'd do some writing early, in order to actually spend time with the folks. You know, what with them spending twelve-ish hours in the Family Truckster ™ to get here, after all.

Crazy, right?

But thinking about family, I can't help but also think about my friends back in Omaha. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy here in Yellow Springs, but it's been almost two years since I hung out with the crowd. Sure, I didn't get out much before I moved out here to Ohio, but you can't really spend a couple dozen years around folks without missing them now and then. Well, I can't, anyway.

Despite my reclusivity.

While I did make it back to Omaha a year and a half ago for a special family shindig, I didn't really have time to meet up with anyone. Me and Brenda flew into Omaha, were there just long enough to attend my grandpa's ninetieth birthday party (a story for another time, to be sure), and then flew back to Dayton. Ugh, that flight itself was also worth of its own gripe-fest, let me tell you.

And I will, too.

But on the plus side, though I was unable to actually head back to Omaha for the Fourth of July last year, I am going to do so in ought sixteen. I have it all planned out and everything - I've just got to pick up a plane ticket before too long. It should even be cheap, since it's a one way ticket. But don't worry, I am coming back to Ohio afterwards. I'm not fleeing the state forever, honest!
