Alas, poor Internets forums.

So a day or so back I was talking about ice picking some nerds in the head.
Not literally of course, but the urge is there... and you know, that may be part of the problem. I've been noticing more and more of late that I have problems on Internet forums. I know on first glance you're thinking 'well maybe you're just a stubborn dick', and yes that is true. But when I'm communicating with people online, I usually try to be polite and respectful.
My rants here notwithstanding, of course.
I mean, when I'm in a discussion with someone I typically try to treat the person I'm talking to with respect, even if I disagree with them. You know, not shouting YOU'RE WRONG over and over. But what I find is that I am in the minority. The vast minority. And despite wanting to help people on some forums that I've participated in on and off over the years, I've simply had it.
I am sick and tired of people I keep encountering over and over that could give a shit about actually helping others on, say, a forum designed to help others - only caring about winning an argument. It seems I get this more on the 'nerd' forums I have stalked over the years, maybe because weirdo introverts have an even harder time communicating than I do? I don't know, but it's just exhausting.
So as a part of my intent to stop cycling myself through unnecessary suck, I'm cutting myself off from these places. I'm probably going to keep following some of them but I'm not about to put any more effort into something that's just going to get my blood pressure up unnecessarily. Not that my blood pressure is bad to begin with, but I'm just tired of being mad for no good reason.
If I had a good reason that would be one thing, but...
But I'm done. It sucks as on a lot of these communities, I have a good rapport with a bunch of people, and not just the people that really like my nerd site. Not just, anyway. Heh. But when I try to talk about gaming or something on a forum, the last thing I want to do is argue politics with graduates of the teabagger school of historical ambivalence, much less butt heads with furries with reading comprehension problems.
Goddamn furries. I warned you but you didn't listen, did you? Now they're everywhere!
