All out of Pokémons ™

December 7th, 2016

And thus, the end of a year of freebies comes to an end.

Hey, it's Meloetta.

Throughout the year, save for in January if memory serves, the Pokémon ™ people have been giving away at least one of the hard to find critters each month, and December is no exception to this rule! That's right, the folks at Nintendo ® have for you the one and only Meloetta! I have yet to actually use this critter in one of the games, but it's kind of neat, and I kind of missed it during the last giveaway.

I managed to get my hands on another via online trading, but you know how that goes. While I did not cheat to get my Meloetta, I can't truly verify whether or not the person who traded it to me had. Sure, that still let me say that I have no bootleg monsters in my collection, but I couldn't prove it. At least, until now. This is because now I have not one, but two Meloettas (one for my Pokémon ™ Y, and one for my Pokémon ™ Alpha Sapphire.

These games really need better names.

Speaking of Nintendo ® games that need better names, Pokémon ™ Sun and Pokémon ™ Moon are now out, extending the total number of Pokémon ™ generations to seven. Which means I am dreadfully behind on my nerd project to incorporate Pokémons ™ into some sort of role playing game. Sigh. That's what you get when you grow up and have a life and a job and and and.

Anyway. If you're playing Sun and/or Moon, the Pokémon ™ people also have a special giveaway for you! If you hop online with your cartridge, you can get you a level 5 Munchlax. Sure, those things are nigh-useless, but they have exclusive moves that let them double the money you get in your cockfights Pokémon ™ battles, and let you knock wild critters down to just one Health point.

Which is at least good for catching things!
