Working on a Sunday sucks.

TRANSISTOR DOES NOT DANCE

I'll bet you're wondering why I've posted the generally accepted symbol for the transistor for my graphical flourish today. As it so happens, I am barred from taking pictures of our products at work, because of the whole 'national security' thing, so this seemed an acceptable abstraction. And this, in case you weren't sure, lets you know that I'm posting from work. On a Sunday.

I wasn't even supposed to be here, today. My boss asked me if I was going to work this weekend back on Friday, and I told her 'No'. This did not stop the torrent of text messages from her that let me know the parts I needed to continue work had finally arrived, and that the unit that Strokerman spent a month building needed to be rewired, because it had been miswired. The deuce you say.

As it so happened, however, Brenda wound up having to do a few hours of work tonight, so I thought I'd go ahead and trundle into work. The alternative was to come in Monday at like three in the morning, and I'm already having enough problems adjusting to Daylight Stealing Time as it is. So this was, in fact, the best of all evils. And where I work, there are many, many evils.

Though the object was to sort this unit out and get out the door as soon as possible, I required a few minutes to compose myself after realizing what had been done to it, so I hammered this update out on, of all things, my telephone. WELCOME TO THE FUTURE, and all that. Well, it'll probably need proofreading, but at least I made a post for today. Even if the day was otherwise ruined by work.

Ruined, I say. RUINED!

But even with me doing this, and having to deal with the test tech downstairs, who was inexplicably waiting for me to get this thing done at 10 PM, I got out of work in relatively short order. And I was paid about thirty bucks per hour to do it, so that's something. But this state of affairs is just going to continue for, like, ever, I think. Until the company decides that it's had enough of these antics.
