I hate working in a death trap.

January 19th, 2016

Oh, wait, I did.

I've got a migraine going on today.

I know this because when I woke up, my head was merely pounding, but now every single sound I hear is about ten times louder than it should be, and all of my coworkers seem like they're shouting at each other. Sure, they usually gibber pretty loudly at each other, but today the effect is amplified beyond reason. People should only be so loud if they're on fire, or running from one.

Mind you, there could be a fire going on in this building, and we wouldn't know it. There is no functional fire alarm system, and the 'we'll let you know if you need to evacuate the building by intercom' method of keeping the work force alive in the event of an emergency has failed because the intercom is broken. And I guess even the megaphone back-up to the back-up doesn't work.

Yeah, I work in a death trap. It's funny that, as much as this company makes, that they are patently unwilling to actually invest in getting the building up to code. I imagine if someone were a complete jerk and ratted the company out to OSHA, the fees that these unsafe conditions would engender would more than exceed the cost involved with rendering the building safe to occupy. But what do I know.

It's not like I used to work for ADT or anything.
